Today 27 million passengers pass through this busy and vital hub generating millions of dollars of revenue for the State and ensuring that the businesses and residents of Massachusetts have ready access to the rest of the world. Economic development around the Commonwealth, however, depends on a continued focus on regionalization and the development of airports like Hanscom and TF Green. This burden sharing will not only reduce the strain on Logan but will ensure that business can thrive in vital communities like Lawrence, Lowell and New Bedford.
In addition, Massport and the FAA must continue to expand residence sound-proofing technology and ensure that all parts of the impacted community are covered.
